DANNY ALONSO
FOUNDER of sonic mafia
Originally from Los Angeles, California, I developed a profound appreciation for music and sound from a young age. My journey began with playing drums, leading me to study recording engineering at the renowned Dick Grove School of Music in Studio City, CA.
After graduating, I launched my career at Hanna Barbera in Hollywood. Three years later, I advanced to Can Am Studios in Tarzana, CA, where I had the privilege of working with legendary artists such as Stone Temple Pilots, Pat Benatar, Dr. Dre, Slash, Snoop Dogg, Kenny Loggins, Herbie Hancock, Eddie Murphy, They Might Be Giants, En Vogue, Chicago, Belinda Carlisle, Frank Black, Jimmy Barnes, Massive Attack, and esteemed producers including Trevor Horn, Brendan O’Brien, Don Gehman, Chris Lord Alge, Ron Nevison, Eddie Kramer, Nellie Hooper, Paul Fox, Gustavo Santaolalla, and Dann Huff.
In 1996, I transitioned into audio post-production, starting at Wildwoods Post before dedicating 16 years to Quartermile Films. In 2016, I founded Sonic Mafia, a boutique audio post-production company committed to providing clients with exceptional, personalized service. To date, I have mixed over 700 broadcast programs.
My passion for music remains steadfast through my partnership with the Acid Dipped Music Library, where I also oversee mastering duties.
